Lucas Sanchez, DSW, LCSW

Lucas Sanchez has experience providing clinical care across emergency, inpatient, intensive outpatient, and outpatient treatment settings. Over the course of his career in mental health, he has developed experience in clinical practice, administration and leadership, academia, and research. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of New Mexico, his Master of Social Work from New Mexico State University, and his Doctorate in Social Work from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Lucas remains active in direct clinical practice and serves as an Assistant Professor of Social Work at New Mexico State University, where he is particularly interested in bridging the gap between research and day-to-day clinical work. Lucas works with adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns. His approach is individualized, drawing from multiple therapeutic frameworks to address each client’s unique needs and goals.
Born and raised in New Mexico, Lucas enjoys exploring lesser-known parts of the state. In his free time, he spends time outdoors with his family and their pup, trains for strength sports and competition, and enjoys building, fixing, and working with his hands.
Sterling Brown, DBH, LCSW

Sterling Brown is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has worked in the field of mental health since 2008. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University, his Master of Social Work from New Mexico State University, and his Doctorate of Behavioral Health from Arizona State University. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as an Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator at New Mexico State University. Sterling has extensive experience in both inpatient psychiatry and outpatient counseling settings. He works across the continuum of mental health presentations and supports individuals experiencing a broad range of psychological and relational difficulties. While he has worked with a variety of ages and populations, his primary focus is young adults, adults, and couples. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and offers therapy in Mandarin when appropriate. His approach to therapy is individualized and collaborative, drawing from established clinical frameworks and adapting to each client’s specific needs and goals.
Sterling has lived in New Mexico for most of his life and enjoys walking and cycling in the many outdoor spaces Albuquerque offers. He and his wife have four children who keep their home active and full. In his free time, he enjoys 3D printing, reading, and watching movies with his family.
